Seminar on Information technology in Vietnam held in California
May 23 (VNA) -- American officials, experts, entrepreneurs, and overseas Vietnamese specialising in information technology attended a two-day seminar on IT in Viet Nam held recently at Stanford University in the U.S. State of Carlifornia.
They discussed the development of IT in Viet Nam in recent years, pointing out both favourable and unfavourable conditions in the business environment in Viet Nam. They agreed that Viet Nam has great potential for success in software development.
They passed out a resolution petitioning the U.S. Government to quickly approve the Bilateral Trade Agreement with Viet Nam in order to create favourable conditions for the two countries' businesses to boost cooperation in the IT sector.
The Vietnamese delegation to the seminar was headed by Deputy Permanent Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, Chu Hao.
The Vietnamese delegates introduced Viet Nam's socio-economic development strategy, its policy on IT development, and the outlook of IT in Viet Nam over the next few years.
While in California, Deputy Minister Chu Hao met with the Californian Trade and Technology Minister as well as representatives of Stanford University. They excharged views on boosting cooperation.--VNA
