We warmly congratulate the Chinese people on the selection of Beijing - the historical and cultural capital of great China - as the host city of the 2008 Olympic Games.
This is a great victory, honour and pride of the people of China. This event demonstrates China's increasing prestige and international position, marking the maturity of China's gymnastics and sports sector as well as the international community's recognition of China's enormous contributions to the development of world sports.
The people of Viet Nam firmly believe that the people of China and the people of Beijing city will successfully organise the 2008 Olympic Games.
