US Senate Delegation Visits Vietnam
A US Senate delegation head by Senator Richard Shelby, Chairman of the US Senate Select Committee for Intelligence, visited Vietnam from Aug. 28-31, 1999. The US Senate delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minsister Nguyen Manh Cam, Defence Minister Pham Van Tra.
Vietnam-US trade and economic co-operation would be enhanced, creating the basis to expand multi-faceted co-operation for peace, stability and development in each country, in the region and and the world, said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cam at a meeting with Senator R. Shelby in Hanoi on August 30.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the visit to Vietnam by the senator would make a contribution to strengthening relations between the two parliaments, as well as mutual understanding between the two people. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Manh Cam stressed Vietnam
