Condolences of Foreign Minister Nguyen Dy Nien

On September 12, 2001, Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Dy Nien sent a message of condolences to U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell as follows:

Dear Mr. Secretary,

We are deeply moved and shocked to learn the news concerning the tragic attack that has just occured in the United States, causing great human losses and a lot of property to the American people.

I would like to convey to you, and through you to the Government and people of the United States, especially to the families of the victims, our deepest condolences. It is our hope that the U.S. Government and people will soon overcome this difficult moment.

We strongly condemn all terrorist acts in the world and prepare to cooperate with the government of all country against such acts.

Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
