Vietnam Airlines &Thai Airway agreement on Da Nang-BKK route
Ha Noi, Sept. 19 (VNA) -- Vietnam Airlines and Thai Airway International signed in Ha Noi today, Sept. 19, a code-sharing agreement on Da Nang-Bangkok route.
The 50-50 partnership agreement will come into effect as of Oct. 28, 2001. Under code-sharing and block seat principle, Vietnam Airlines will sell tickets under its own name and Thai Airway Int'l will provide services on Da Nang-Bangkok route and vice versa.
Thai Airway Int'l will fly 149-seat Boeing 737 on this route. Regular fights on the route will be available on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
In the coming time, Vietnam Airlines will continue discussion with its Thai partner on increasing flights as well as Viet Nam's provision of service on the route.
Viet Nam Airlines Deputy Director Pham Ngoc Minh told VNA that Vietnam Airlines is currently conducting three flights a week on Da Nang-Bangkok route and vice versa. However, the number of passengers on this route has recently risen so much that a daily flight is necessary. Therefore, the signing of the partnership arrangement is to meet passengers' demand and promote economic, cultural and tourism cooperation between Viet Nam's central region and Thailand.--VNA
