La Vang festival for Catholics from 25 dioceses nationwide
Quang Tri, Aug. 15 (VNA) -- Tens of thousands of Catholics from 25 dioceses nationwide flocked to the 26th La Vang festival which was organised in the central province of Quang Tri from Aug. 13-15.
The authorities and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Chapters of Quang Tri province, of Hai Lang district, and of Hai Phu commune created every favourable condition for the Catholics to practise their religion during the event.
Although severe drought is going on in the province, the festival took place smoothly without any incidents traffic accidents or water shortage and electricity blackouts.
Prior to the official ceremony of the festival, representatives of the Quang Tri province's Viet Nam Fatherland Front called at and presented a bouquet of flowers to the La Vang church.
The archbishop of the Hue diocese and the head of the Quang Tri parish called at the Quang Tri province's Viet Nam Fartherland Front at its headquarters.--Enditem
