U.S provide aid to Vietnam's agricultural projects

Ha Noi, Sept. 4 (VNA) -- The United States will provide 25,000 tonnes of wheat worth 3.2 million USD to Viet Nam's agricultural and rural development-related projects.

Seventy percent of the aid will be for five programmes on the development of irrigation system in central Thanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces; a study on excess uses of insecticide on fruits and vegetables; and the development of laws on bio-technology applications in the field; milch cow development; and clean aquaculture development.

An agreement to this effect has been signed between Nguyen Sinh Hung, Viet Nam's Finance Minister, and Mary T. Chambliss, the U.S.'s General Executive Director of Commerce and Vice Chairwoman of Goods Credit Agency.--Enditem
