The occasion of the 35th AMM, the annual Post Ministerial Conference between ASEAN and the US (PMC ASEAN + US) also took place. Under the Co-chairmanship of Viet Nam, as the Country Coordinator of ASEAN – US Dialogue Relation, and the United States, the PMC has held constructive and in-depth discussion on issues pertaining to the further strengthening of ASEAN – US cooperation on various activities, most notably the joint effort to combat the threat of terrorism, as well as other transnational crimes, which saw a major development in the signing of the Joint Declaration of ASEAN – US efforts to combat terrorism. ASEAN Member Countries especially welcomed the affirmation of US commitment in promoting its ties with ASEAN. Cooperation has also been reaffirmed to further developing and expanding of the mutual beneficial programs and activities, especially in the field of development cooperation.

Next year, Viet Nam will play host to the 17th ASEAN – US Senior Officials Dialogue Meeting.
