Viet Nam - EU human rights dialogue held
VIET NAM-EU HUMAN RIGHTS DIALOGUE HELD
Ha Noi, Dec. 5 (VNA) -- Viet Nam and European Union (EU) countries have exchanged views on human rights issues at a dialogue held in Ha Noi on Thursday.
They discussed a wide range of issues related to human rights, including those listed in the agenda of the 57th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
The host delegation underlined Viet Nam's consistent policy and drastic measures to protect and ensure the practice of human rights by the Vietnamese people.
It also highlighted the achievements in the process of comprehensive renewal, considering them fundamental conditions for all Vietnamese people to enjoy their citizen's rights.
Viet Nam also affirmed its goodwill and readiness to promote the exchange of views with other countries, including EU countries, for further mutual understanding.
The dialogue was presided over by Le Luong Minh, acting director of the foreign ministry's department for international organisations, who led the host delegation.
It was co-chaired by Danish Ambassador Bjame H. Sorenscen, Italian Ambassador Luigi Solari, and Ambassador Frederie Baron, head of the EU mission to Viet Nam.
