Foreign-invested projects generate some half a million jobs
FOREIGN-INVESTED PROJECTS GENERATE SOME HALF A MILLION JOBS
Ha Noi, Dec. 25 (VNA) -- So far this year, the economic sector with foreign investment has employed 472,400 workhands, more than three-fourths of them work for wholly foreign-invested enterprises.
Statistics released by the Ministry of Planning and Investment showed that 3,663 foreign invested projects with a combined registered capital of almost 39.1 billion USD are operating across the country. They have recorded a total tunover of 39.05 billion USD and export turnover of more than 13.64 billion USD.
Of the figure, 2,615 projects are wholly foreign invested with a combined capital of more than 15.45 billion USD, obtaining an estimated 18.58 billion USD in revenue and more than 10.8 billion USD in export turnover.
The country's 1,694 joint-venture projects, capitalised at more than 27.1 billion USD, attained more than 21.29 billion USD in revenue, and generate 154,400 jobs.
Projects operating in the forms of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), Build-Transfer (BT), and Build-Transfer-Operate (BT0) account for the remainder, which are modest.
