Vietnam and UK strengthen cooperation
Dec. 7 (VNA) -- Nguyen Dinh Bin, Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, has paid a working visit to the United Kingdom from Dec. 5-7.
Deputy FM Nguyen Dinh Bin held talks with British State Minister of the Interior M. O Brien, and representatives of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The two sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations as well as discussed measures to create more favourable conditions for Vietnamese community to integrate into the U.K. society, thus contributing to developing the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Deputy FM informed representatives of the Association of Vietnamese People in the U.K. and Ireland of the country's current situation and national renovation process and Vietnam's new policies to overseas Vietnamese.
Representatives of overseas Vietnamese expressed their pleasure at the achievements recorded in implementing the renovation policy in Viet Nam and hailed the new policies of the Party and State to overseas Vietnamese.
The diplomat and his entourage toured a number of production and business establishments owned by overseas Vietnamese in Hackney district which has a larger number of Vietnamese nationals.--
