Viet Nam Embassy held the 70th anniversary of the National Day
A ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day was held on September 17, 2015 at the Vietnamese embassy in the US.
Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh said the ceremony took place as Vietnam and the US are preparing activities to mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties. Mr. Vinh said 2015 is a significant landmark which develops Vietnam-US ties to a new height with Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s historic visit to the US and the issuance of a joint vision statement of relations. The ambassador said Vietnam and the US have great potentials for economic and trade development, especially once the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement is signed.
US Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel expressed his belief that Vietnam would further develop in the future and that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the US would see positive results.
