Japanese Justice Minister visits Vietnam
Ha Noi, Jan. 11 (VNA) -- Viet Nam's Justice Minister Nguyen Dinh Loc and his Japanese counterpart, Masahiko Komura, have discussed broadening co-operation between the two countries.
Mr. Loc and Mr.Komura, who began a three-day visit to Viet nam on Jan. 10, spoke highly of the active and effective cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan in the recent past and agreed to develop their bilateral ties to a new dimension, thus contributing to a closer friendship and better understanding between the two countries.
Japan was among the first countries to establish legal and judicial relations with Viet Nam.
Bilateral cooperation between the two countries has been developed since 1996 when a joint project was implemented to help Viet Nam build its institutional system, develop human resources and disseminate legal documents.--VNA
PM PHAN VAN KHAI RECEIVES JAPANESE MINISTER
Ha Noi, Jan. 11 (VNA) -- Visiting Japanese Justice Minister Masahiko Komura has assured Prime Minister Phan Van Khai of Japan's continuing help to Viet Nam in providing information and expertise for the building and enforcement of laws as well as personnel training.
Mr. Komura also briefed Mr. Khai about the results of his talks with Justice Minister Nguyen Dinh Loc and said he hoped that Viet Nam would be successful in its regional and global economic integration.
While meeting with the Japanese minister on Jan. 11, Mr.Khai said that he appreciated Japan's experiences and potential in the legal sector as well as its capabilities in economic management and technological development.
Mr. Khai expressed his belief that Viet Nam would receive more help from the Japanese government and people in all areas, including its official development assistance (ODA) for Viet Nam's infrastructure construction, poverty alleviation and hunger elimination.--VNA
