US $10 Million Grossed in Tea Export
Nhandan July 4, 1999 - 6,200 tonnes of different kinds of tea were exported by the Vietnam Tea Corporation in the first half of this year, achieving nearly US $10 million worth of export, a 2,000 tonnes and about US $2.6 million increase compared to the same period last year.
Though the tea price in the world market has decreased, the price of Vietnamese exported tea is relatively stable due to the stability of traditional export markets such as Japan and Iraq. The corporation is requesting its member units to improve tea quality, tea production and diversify processed tea products in order to obtain the goal of exporting 12,000 tonnes of tea or US $20 million worth of tea export this year.
