Third round of talks on Vietnam -Cambodia border issue concludes
Ha Noi, Nov. 5 (VNA) -- The third round of negotiations on the border issue between Viet Nam and Cambodia ended in Ha Noi today, Nov. 5, after eight days' sitting.
The Vietnamese delegation to the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Border Affairs was led by Tran Cong Truc, Head of the Government Border Committee, and the Cambodian delegation, by Var Kim Hong, advisor to the Royal Government on Border Affairs.
The two sides reached important consensus on most of the issues raised for discussion.
They signed minutes of the third round today, acknowledging the two delegations' efforts over the past two years in properly implementing the agreement reached by the leadership of both countries.
Leaders of the two countries agreed to have the two countries' border issue solved within this year with a view to building a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and long-lasting stability, thus facilitating development of the neighbourly traditional relationship between the two nations for the interest of the Vietnamese and Cambodian peoples
