More equitised state owned enterprises in Ho Chi Minh city
Jan. 15 (VNA) -- Ho Chi Minh City equitised 22 more State-owned enterprises (SOEs) in 2000, bringing the total number of equitised SOEs in the city to 64.
Eighteen of these enterprises had a total capital of VND 205.913 billion owned by the State, a total registered capital of VND 207.765 billion, and mobilized a further VND 17.663. They refunded VND 126.326 billion to the State Budget right after their equitisation.
However, the equitisation process was slower than planned due to cumbersome administrative procedures and difficulties in evaluating the enterprises' assets, and repayment of debts.
Meanwhile, the city also re-arranged 27 enterprises and prepared for the setting up of two corporations involving enterprises of the same occupations.
Currently, the city manages 318 State-owned enterprises, including 115 enterprises belonging to seven corporations. These corporations account for 24 percent of the total business capital, 42 percent of the employees and 38 percent of the remittances to the State Budget by those State-owned enterprises managed by the city.--VNA
