DECREE ON MINIMUM WAGE IN ENTERPRISES
The Government
Pursuant to the Law on the Organization of the Government dated 30 September 1992;
Pursuant to the Labour Code dated 23 June 1994;
On the proposal of the Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs;
Decrees:
Article 1
To stipulate the level of the minimum wage at one hundred and eighty thousand (180,000) dong per month applicable to employees working in enterprises operating under the Law on State Owned Enterprises and enterprises operating under the Law on Enterprises.
Article 2
1. For State owned enterprises operating under the Law on State Owned Enterprises, the level of contributions and entitlements to social insurance and health insurance for workers and officials shall be calculated in accordance with the salary co-efficient stipulated in Decree 26-CP of the Government dated 23 May 1993 and the minimum wage level stipulated in article 1 of this Decree.
2. For enterprises operating under the Law on Enterprises, the wage level as the basis for contributions and entitlements to social insurance and health insurance stated in labour contracts shall be calculated in accordance with the minimum wage level stipulated in article 1 of this Decree.
Article 3
The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs shall co-ordinate with the Ministry of Finance to provide guidelines for implementation of this Decree.
Article 4
This Decree shall be of full force and effect as of 1 January 2000.
Article 5
Ministers, heads of ministerial equivalent bodies, heads of Government bodies, and chairmen of people's committees of provinces and cities under central authority shall be responsible for implementation of this Decree.
