Central city lengthens priority list of foreign invested projects
Da Nang city, Feb. 19 (VNA) - The central coastal city of Da Nang is offering foreign investors incentives in 54 projects mostly in industries and tourism in an effort to woo an estimated 432 million USD for 2003-2010.
The list is to be announced at a conference scheduled for March 6-7 of which the agenda will focus the local preferencial taxes on land use rights and other favourable policies and administrative reforms.
The municipal People's Committee expects 100 foreign investors, mostly from Asian countries, and 50 domestic investors, to attend the "Opportunity for Foreign Investors to Visit Seaport Da Nang City" conference.
Foreign-invested projects operational in the city now number 49 with a combined capital of almost 299.4 million USD. Last year alone, the municipal People's Committee granted licences for eight foreign invested projects capitalised at 51.86 million USD, an increase of 35 percent in the number of licensed projects and four fold in investments year on year.
