Vietnam, ”Far East's best tourism destination”
Vietnam was selected as the best tourism destination in the Far East region in 2005 at the Viaggiatori international tourism fair held in Switzerland from Oct. 28-Nov. 1.
The Vietnam News Agency quoted the fair organizers as saying that Vietnam was a “beautiful, friendly and safe place for holidaymakers” at the awards ceremony.
The fair, which drew over 1,200 travel agencies and 40,000 visitors from around the world, brought Vietnam an opportunity to introduce its image through the country's kettledrum symbol and photos of beautiful landscape, as well as Vietnam's traditional musical instruments and folk pictures.
Vietnam has welcomed around 2.84 million foreign visitors over the past three quarters of this year.
