Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong visits Kansas
(Embassy) August 22 - 24th, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Cuong took a working visit to Kansas where the Vietnamese community of more than 40,000 people are living, working and studying.
Meeting with a number of the Vietnamese families there, the Ambassador gladly shared achievements the overseas Vietnamese gained and wished them have a good life. He asserted the Vietnamese Government’s policy of supporting them.
During his visit, Ambassador Cuong met with Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, Secretary of Commerce Pat George, Under Secretary Jakie McClaskey, Congressman Tim Huelskamp, Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins and Kansas Representative Sharon Schwartz. The Ambassador laid emphasis on the fast increase in trade between Vietnam and Kansas and the significance of Vietnam's TPP membership in facilitating much more increase in trade and investment between Vietnam and Kansas in particularly and between Vietnam and the US in generally.
The two countries are intensifying the bilateral relation to a new level of development, towards a strategic partnership, the Ambassador added, Vietnam and Kansas should seize every opportunity and capacity to promote comprehensive cooperation./.
