US President arrives in Vietnam for DPRK-USA summit
US President Donald Trump arrived at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, at 20:58 hours on February 26 for his second summit with DPRK leader Kim Jong-un, and bilateral activities in Vietnam.
President Trump was welcomed by Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Standing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Chairman of the Hanoi city People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam, Vice Chairman of the President’s Office Chu Van Yem, and Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Ha Kim Ngoc.
During his trip to Vietnam, President Trump will have meetings with Vietnamese high-ranking leaders. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney will attend bilateral and multilateral activities of President Trump in Hanoi.
This is the second time the US President has come to Vietnam. In November 2017, he paid an official visit to Vietnam and attended the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central coastal city of Da Nang./.
