Peter Yarrow to perform in Hanoi
The renowned U.S. folk singer Peter Yarrow of the legendary band Peter, Paul & Mary will give a special concert at the Hanoi Opera House to raise funds for Vietnamese Agent Orange victims next Tuesday night.
All tickets to the performance are complimentary and can be obtained at the American Chamber of Commerce at the Hilton Hotel in Hanoi.
At the Vietnamese concert, Yarrow will perform his own songs like Puff, the Magic Dragon; Weave Me the Sunshine; Day is Done; River of Jordan; Sweet Survivor; and Music Speaks Louder Than Words.
He will also sing some songs performed by Peter, Paul & Mary like Leaving on a Jet Plane; 500 Liles; Where Have all the Flowers Gone; Gone the Rainbow; and I'm in Love with a Big Blue Frog.
With his unique talented gift, the social activist composed many beautiful and emotional songs including Puff, The Magic Dragon; Day Is Done; and Light One Candle, which always reflected his enthusiasm for positive social changes.
In 1982, Yarrow was granted the Allard K. Lowenstein Award for his contribution for freedom, peace and human rights.
In his latest project, Yarrow aims to include music education as part of the U.S. curriculum for students nationwide. The project entitled Operation Respect: ''Don't Laugh At Me'' was carried out at more than 10,000 schools and received rave reviews from U.S experts working in the educational field.
