Vietnam supports foreigners' cultural & educational institutions



Ha Noi, May 8 (VNA) -- The Viet Nam Government supports the establishment of foreign educational organizations relating to culture, arts, information, economics, science and technology.

The Prime Minister has issued Decree No. 18/2001/ND-CP on the establishment and operation of such foreign organizations in Viet Nam.

The six-chapter decree stipulates that such organizations will be set up under non-profit forms of representative offices, joint ventures or independent organizations, in order to develop education and promote cultural exchange.

The revenue of such organizations will be used for such things as educational and cultural development, and the construction of infrastructure.

Those foreign cultural and educational establishments that earn profits will operate under the Law on Foreign Investment in Viet Nam.--VNA
