Vietnam Christian Missionary Alliance Marks 50th Anniversary
The Vietnam Christian Religion Missionary Alliance celebrated its 50th anniversary (September 1) in central Da Nang city on September 15.
To mark the occasion, the alliance received a certificate of religious practice from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.
First established in 1956, the alliance now has 23,000 followers in four local religious societies and 210 religious groups in 14 provinces and cities nationwide. Its headquarters are located in Da Nang city.
Acting Head of the Alliance pastor Nguyen Toi affirmed that local believers try to live a virtuous and religious life while actively taking part in humanitarian activities and national patriotic movements.
The celebration was attended by representatives of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the People's Committee and Fatherland Front of Da Nang city and provincial and municipal committees for religious affairs in the region, local pastors, dignitaries and Christians all attended the celebration.
