Vietnam Spells out Diplomatic Tasks for 2007
Vietnam would continue to reinforce ties with other countries and integrate into the global and regional economies next year, a government spokesman said Thursday.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dzung said the country would “consolidate multi-faceted cooperation frameworks with other countries, especially its neighbors, global powers, and important partners … in a deep, stable, and sustainable manner".
Vietnam would also integrate more deeply, address challenges arising from its entry into the World Trade Organization, and fulfill commitments made to other countries in terms of trade, investment, and market opening.
It would strengthen the legal framework to promote external economic activities, attract investment and development assistance, and expand export markets and economic diplomacy.
It would continue to build borders of peace, cooperation, and development with its neighbors.
It would "intensify its activities in multilateral forums, actively participate in solving global issues, and enhance its role and status in the international arena, he said.
