Viet Nam rejects statements that intervene into its internal affairs
On August 9th 2011, answering question about Viet Nam’s comments on the statements of the US and the EU on the appeal trial of Cu Huy Ha Vu, Madam Nguyen Phuong Nga, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearly states that:
We reject statements that intervene into the internal affairs of Viet Nam.
Vietnamese state is a law-governed state. As in other countries, in Viet Nam, all law violations are handled in accordance with Vietnamese laws and in line with international laws, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political rights. There are no so-called “prisoners of conscience” in Viet Nam.
Cu Huy Ha Vu committed the crime of conducting propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Vietnamese courts have conducted legal and fair trials for the right treatment of offender and crime.
